Level
view of fireplace wall while under construction This photo shows the framing of
the fireplace along with the two flanking doors on each side of the said fire
place, balancing it off in the room. The doors are framed out to eight feet tall
with awning windows above. This end wall is over twenty three feet tall.

This
picture shows the framing of the west wall. Showing you how far it was transformed.
The fireplace framing was shot on the first floor and from the loft. The new addition
used every inch of existing space but still giving that home feeling.
This
photo is taken from the loft after the framing of the stairs and floor joist were
done, looking down upon the fire place with the platform built that will support
the fire place when it is placed inside. The firer place was lifted off the floor
to give it a much more dramatic look in the room. The room was so large the firer
place on the floor got lost. The owner also wanted to build an over sized hearth
in which people could sit on and enjoy the firer at the same time. I have been
told that this feature has met with a warm welcome.
